Tired, Exhausted, Worn Out, STRESSED… Which describes you best?

We have had weeks and weeks of being busy in our home. Every night was booked. Every weekend was booked. I was getting behind in my devotion time. It was pretty hit and miss. But when I made time for it I found peace. I found stress relief. I found calm. I found rest.

I was once told by a friend that stress is not sin.  This surprised me, because when I’m stressed my physical, mental and emotional reaction is not usually the most correct response. I yell, have high blood pressure, stay awake worrying, etc. My friend pointed me to 2 Corinthians 4:8 which says, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;” And the passage goes on using words like persecuted, struck down, etc. Sounds like Paul was stressed to me. However, his response to his stress was much different to mine responses. Paul was not crushed, not in despair, not forsaken, not destroyed, etc. Thus, I have learned that when I am tired, exhausted, worn out and STRESSED I need to make sure I have time for God and His word so I don’t allow myself to be pressed, crushed, perplexed or struck down.

When my soul is weary, God can give me rest. My time with God gives me rest and a new perspective. Thank you Lord that you want to spend time with crazy me! Help me to spend more time with you.

He showers me with compliments daily. I have no doubt that he loves me. And as I get older and age takes its toll, I become more and more grateful for these compliments. My level of thankfulness for his affection grows daily.

However, I know that there are many out there, who may be reading this now, who do not feel loved. Maybe a neglected wife or husband, and ignored child, a widow or widower, or a lonely adult. And, if we search the internet we will find all kinds of solutions to our problem. Some helpful and some that may have short term results but ultimately lead down a road to heartache and pain. If you feel unloved, know this: GOD LOVES YOU! This is truth, whether you feel it or not. Romans 8:35-39 says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? …For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” See, GOD LOVES YOU! And to prove His love He sent you a love letter, His Word. Want to tap into that love; read your Bible daily. Read it as if you hunger for it like chocolate and thirst for it like a Latte. Then the head knowledge of love with become heart knowledge.

TODAY, Pray for someone you know who needs to feel loved. Or, pray for yourself to feel God’s love, but do the foot work and read your love letter daily. (Christian Apparel that helps you share God’s Word with others.)

It’s only happened to me once or twice and I hope that it never happens again. It’s that panic that sets into your heart when you think you’ve lost one of you children. Since these two incidences my kids have been banned from hiding in clothing wracks. They thought they were being funny as they were going to jump out and scare me. They learned very quickly that it wasn’t funny at all.

Do you think God feels that same panic and urgency when He looks at those who are “lost” to Him? We are surround be people who either know nothing about God or who pick and choose what they want from Him, thus, never really knowing Him. I assume that He aches for them probably more so than a parent who has lost a child that has never returned home, as He alone knows the horrible fate that awaits them.

But there is hope. Luke 19:10 says, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus, God’s Son is constantly seeking and saving the lost. And we can help bring God’s children home through prayer and sharing our testimony and God’s Word with those who are lost.

TODAY, Pray for someone who is lost to God. And pray for those parents who have lost a child. That they would receive peace, guidance and wisdom as they go through their troubling time. (Christian Apparel that helps you share your testimony for Jesus Christ.)

It always begins with hope and excitement…

I love it when my team wins.  The game always begins with hope and excitement.  However, it can sometimes end in anger and disappointment.  Why didn’t he throw to second instead of home? What was the pitcher thinking when he didn’t cover first base?  How could he miss a catch like that!  All games are alike, until it’s over you don’t know how it will end.

Our victory in Christ is very different.  It begins and ends the same. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Christ is the victor and we are victorious through Him.  No matter how hopeless the problem or insurmountable the situation seems, we have the promise of Christ that we will end in victory.  The game may not be played the way we think it should, but we will WIN with Christ as our Lord! Be confident in our team because our coach is the King of Kings!  Victory is ours!

If you have victory in Jesus give this post a like! ❤❤❤❤❤ (Christian Apparel that helps you share Jesus with others.)

I will share too much with people and later regret it. Once our well went out which meant no water for our house. It was late at night and I was trying to get in a quick shower before I went to bed. When I talked to an insurance agent the next day to determine what we needed to do to get it fixed, I share the same story. My goal was to let him know how complicated things had been for us. Instead, his response was, “Mama, I won’t lie, that made me blush.” I was so embarrassed, especially since I am a very modest woman. The last thing I wanted to do was make the agent who was trying to help us uncomfortable. And now we were both uncomfortable.

I wish my ability to over trust and over share worked as well with my relationship with God. Trusting Him, for some reason, is much harder for me. And yet, it shouldn’t be. He should be the easiest one to trust because He never fails. Things might not turn out the way we want or expected, but if “we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) then trusting Him should be easy. (much easier than trusting embarrassing info with an insurance agent.)

How would you rate your trust in God? What helps you trust Him more? (Christian Apparel that helps you share Jesus with others.)
