Guarding one’s heart should be a top priority in the life of a follower of Christ. Our culture opposes most of what God’s Word says and we are immersed in that same culture. If we are not cautious, not guarding our heart, we tend to start compromising our beliefs and values. We try to make God and man happy, but that just isn’t possible.
Here’s an example, and I’m sure there are thousands more out there, but have you ever watched a show and when two characters finally get together you are happy for them, even if how they got to that point or what they do at that point is contrary to God’s Word? See, when we don’t guard our hearts we want what the culture says is okay even if God says it’s not.
What areas in life have you started to compromise? Is it in love, finances, faith, business, entertainment and hobbies? If you are ready to change, ask God to help you to guard your heart and see things as they really are. However, don’t be surprised when you feel conviction, guilt, or sadness because when God starts to change you heart these tend to pop up. God wants you to deal with those things that need to be dealt with and seek His forgiveness. So, “Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.” Proverbs 4:23 #heart #changeofheart #guardyourheart #guardyourmind #faithingod #hischild
