Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. – Psalm 105:1

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. – Psalm 105:1

We sing the praises of movie stars, tv stars and musicians. We follow their every social media account. We watch their every film, show or video and go to their concerts. They are mere mortals like us, gifted in one area of life, just like us, but we treat them like gods.

If we followed the one true God as closely as we follow people like these, how in-tune we might become with the One who actually deserves this praise.

How will you proclaim His greatness today?

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Sometimes my son prays to end our family devotions. And this prayer can go on and on and on. He will thank God for everything from the toys in his room and his family to the pictures that hang on our walls. If he can see it, he will thank God for it. And as late and tired I might be at the end of the day, I’m okay with this. And I know God is loving it. Who thanks God for a picture on the wall? I know I don’t, but my son does. My son is understanding that everything, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, comes from God. Thus, I don’t stop him or ask him to wrap things up. I try to learn from his child-like faith. And, if I’m honest, sometimes I’m trying to cover up giggles, along with my husband, as our son picks things to thank God for.

Come Emmanuel

Christmas isn’t about a baby in a manger, it’s about God who is with us.

Jesus, gave up His throne in heaven, to come to a dirty, sinful world. To serve instead of being served. To be hated by those He loved. And punished for the sins He did not commit. And He did it for me; and for you. Would we have been willing to do the same if roles were reversed?

Happy Thanksgiving by His-Child.com

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

What are you thankful for and have you shared your list with Jesus?

We are thankful for our families, our friends and the Body of Christ (which includes you if you are a Christian). We are thankful that we live in a country where we have the freedom to read God’s Word. We are thankful for Jesus Christ and His sacrifice that we might live. And we are thankful for social media that we might post uplifting posts that point others to Jesus.

Happy Thanksgiving

Several months ago I lost the diamonds (all of them) from my wedding band. The center cracked out leaving just the sides of the band and a huge hole. I’ve been wearing this silver ring in its place because I kept feeling my finger for my missing ring. First anxiety would feel me thinking I had lost it, then sadness filled me as I remembered that it was gone for good.

I took this picture wearing my Thankful shirt because I’d rather have a broken wedding ring than a broken marriage. And because of God, my marriage is amazing. For that, I am truly thankful.

What are you thankful for? Please let us know in the comments.

BTW, my husband surprised me by taking me ring shopping. My new ring should be in soon.

Get your #thankful shirt from His-Child.com. It also comes in a dark heather gray.

Give Thanks In Everything

Good and Perfect Gifts

In our busy lives that never seem to stop or slow down we forget to recognize many of the blessings God has given. According to James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” Each one of us has been given good and perfect gifts. We just may fail to recognize them. When life is hard, easy, busy, crazy, hectic, miserable… God still gives us good and perfect gifts, we just have to take our focus off of the hard, easy, busy, crazy, hectic, and miserable and look. It may not be some huge gift, but sometimes the smallest can be the most enjoyable and teach us the life lessons we are needing.

Today’s Challenge: Ignore everything that life is throwing your way just for a few minutes. Sit with your eyes closed and remove all distractions, even if only for a minute and think of as many good and perfect gifts God has given you. Then send up a prayer thanking Him for those gifts. (Gifts can be as big as an encouraging word from a friend at the needed time, or as small as a cool breeze on a hot day or the first delicious bite of your favorite treat.)

MOM’s Challenge: Children are good and perfect gifts from God. They might not be perfect angels all the time, but God never makes any mistakes when He created you in your mother’s womb or your children in yours. Everything He makes is perfect and with a purpose. Thank God for your children and the blessings they bring to your life. If you are in a rough patch as a parent, ask God for help and guidance on how He would handle your situation. Go to the scripture and see what God says about the areas you are dealing with. But, whatever you do, do not forget to thank Him!

MOMS – Got any stories you’d like to share about your good and perfect gifts? We’d love to hear them, so just jot them below.
